First Look: Crankbrothers Release SOS Line of Trailside Repair Tools
I appreciate all the engineering and thought that went into this and similar tools. But after a wet winter and extra muddy spring, I’ll be keeping similar tools plus a Tubolito in my tiny seat bag that’s closed up and rides up high, not directly exposed to the trail muck. Having all these things exposed on a daily basis doesn’t seem like a good idea. Plus I can very easily switch the little seat bag to another bike. Not trying to be a progress-resistant curmudgeon, but I just don’t see any advantage to this over a small, well-sealed seat bag that I actually use on a trail about once per year.

Men's Category of Slopestyle Will Not Proceed - Crankworx Rotorua 2024 [Updated with Unified Slopestyle Athlete Statement]
@jsnfschr: Quote from Golf Monthly: "All exempt players on the PGA Tour are guaranteed $500,000 against earnings. But it’s not a salary. It’s a base level. Exempt PGA Tour players will receive $500,000 (rookies can claim it up front) and they only start to collect prize money when they earn more than that $500,000 base." And if they earn less than $500k, they don't have to give back any money. Pretty sure one PGA player's base is more than the entire pool of prize money in all slopestyle events plus any three other MTB disciplines.

Pinkbike Poll: Do You Use Your Climb Switch?
I need both buttons - undulating terrain and DW-link. I ride undulating terrain and got so tired of flipping the damn switch that I bought a DW-link bike. Problem solved.

@browner: Umm, if you've replaced the rims, spokes and hubs those are not the same wheels.

Mass Redundancies Reported at Wiggle Chain Reaction
@vp27: Not to argue with your basic premise, but in Dec 2019 nobody outside of Wuhan province had any idea that there was even a problem. We were also bullish and rolling in my business Dec 2019. Much less so in April 2020...

Video: A Mid-Winter Downhill Rebuild
@dkendy1: The small, totally unique, OEM-specific, only available via international online order part that drops and disappears. And then is found after the new washer/plug/screw/bushing/etc. arrives. Then I have a backup for next time!

Orange Bikes Resumes Trading Under Owner Ashley Ball
Dear Orange; Happy that you survived to fight another day. However, if you just keep doing what you’ve been doing, even with your new “seamless and efficient workflow”, you’ll be back in administration in a couple of years. As the rare American who has actually owned an Orange, I was underwhelmed 12 years ago. Having just ridden a new-ish Orange on a recent visit to the UK, I was again underwhelmed but also sort of disappointed that so little had changed in 12 years when it wasn’t so great back then. Once you were innovators, then you decided to wallow in “tradition” as innovation in the bike biz went on without you. I respect tradition, but in no way does it move me to buy an MTB. Innovation does move me. (and no, making e-bikes isn’t innovation) Good luck and looking forward to a fresh crop of something new.

@ctrlmoo5: OK, that might be true, but he said, "first world COUNTY". So which county would that be?
